Working closely with nurseries across Scotland, staff are trained to the highest standards and gain qualifications in the work place.

SVQ Level 3 Social Services Children & Young People

This qualification is aimed at those who want to become fully qualified Early Years Practitioners.

Within the qualification there are eight Units. The 4 mandatory units you will be undertaking are:

• Unit 301 Promote effective communication  
   
• Unit 032 Promote health, safety and security in the work
   
• Unit 033 Develop your practice through reflection and learning
   
• Unit 034 Promote the safeguarding of children and young people  
   

Optional units will be selected based on the learners’ needs.

SVQ Level 4 Social Services Children & Young People

This qualification is aimed at those in a managerial/ supervisory position. To achieve the SVQ level 4, candidates are required to complete eight Units. Four core/mandatory Units plus four optional Units

• Unit 401 Maintain effective communication systems and practice
   
• Unit 042 Lead practice for health and safety in the work setting
   
• Unit 043 Take responsibility for the continuing professional development of yourself and others  
   
• Unit 044 Lead practice that promotes the safeguarding of children and young people

Optional units will be selected based on the learners’ needs.
